60 Years in Retrospect

Well, last week was definitely a "journey into the past" for many of us who have watched PBS special with highlights from the '60s. Start with "No Direction Home," a documentary about Bob Dylan, helped the ground, nor what should be. Rare insight into the life and times of this and selfless individuals have been a special experience for me. Biaza Joan stressed that "it real deep" for those of us who are passionate aboutDylan. This is very true and sometimes hard to others, not divide, to explain the feeling. But one thing is certain, as a musician and songwriter, we can all learn something from him. What stands out most clearly in my head by Bob Dylan, is that always true to herself and who you put in a box. If others in their flashlight or wear their example would cause him, stayed on course and followed so her. He knew who he was and as a result of manymore people to listen to his music and message performance. Bob Dylan brought his own flashlight and turned out to be lighter and stronger than all the others that came before him.

Wednesday evening will present "The Best of The Beatles", the
in fact a pun - "Best" in reference to Pete
Best,
former drummer of the Beatles. It 'was interesting to hear the familiar story told again through the eyes of Pete Best himself. A kind man, youcould not be afraid to use up, lose some of the bands most famous rock n 'roll history. Can you imagine if John was in the group, Paul, George and Pete? Nee ... I think not.

Revolution and anarchy finished the week. We saw the idealism of the 60 left in disappointment caused by the end of the decade. After years of struggle for peace, hopes the murders of Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King were tightened. Abandonment, tuningout, the increase of drug use-all the signs of an unhappy, unhealthy society hours blurred dream. Something good came from this period, however. From George Harrison and his major concert Bangladesh has started the efforts of musicians to be done
The money for the needy We saw the formation of "Band Aid", a different idea of Bob Dylan, Nelson achieved with the help of Willie. Lasts until today to raise fundsthrough annual benefit concerts on behalf of the farmers who struggle many conservatives in our nation.

There are many things here to reflect and think about it! Music
Musicians can make a difference. Some of the important
The lessons I have received from musicians and songwriters to learn this week:

be real.

Do not compromise.

Put your heart into it.

And always keep your eyes open for opportunities to help others in need.

With these things in mind, perhaps mymusic (and you) can have a part of the world a better place.
