The Beatles A Hard Day's Night, published July 10, 1964 and all 13 songs were original, only about 13 months after they released Help! On August 6, 1965, and 12 of the 14 songs that were original. Between these two classic albums, the Beatles released often overlooked Sale (December 4, 1964) and contained only eight copies (along with six covers pretty crappy).
I think that is a lower percentage of the original, which really hurtsThe reputation of this album, and for good reason. The not so many great covers makes it a much tougher listen to from beginning to end. But if I actually look at the quality of the eight original I think this album is right there (even if not there) in the two classics.
With the release of Beatles Remastered Box Set, September 9, 2009, I had to hear the originals on this album a lot and I think they are wonderful. Whatfollows are my notes on each.
Eight Lennon / McCartney original
"No Answer" - What a wonderful opener. If I had to choose one song from this album, it would probably be this. I've always loved, but it sounds really amazing, it's new remastered versions (both stereo and mono.) Is emotional weight than many Beatles songs.
"I'm a loser" - this really works well on "No Reply" becausesounds like the singer (John Lennon) on the love that is lost sing the track.
"Baby's In Black" - 4:03 This song has a wonderfully sad sound, which obviously fits well in the first two songs. I think the mood is one of the most cohesive starts every Beatles album, which unfortunately is completely destroyed, in addition to "Roll Music, rock covers and know that
"I'll Follow The Sun" - Imagine if this came onfor "Baby's in Black." Would not it be perfect? He wants a new beginning. This is a beautiful melody bittersweet. One of my favorite first dance McCartney.
"Eight Days A Week" - After two rather irritating covers, catchy melody that picks the pace. No, not really suitable for the type of introspective atmosphere of the first four original, but a lot 'of fun anyway.
"Every Little Thing - I love the drum. I think thefits very well with the first four originals. And 'certainly' in love 'song, but a little' weight on them.
'I will not spoil the feast "- fits perfectly into the" I "theme a loser. It sounds slightly country overtones, might be ruined, but they did not. It is easy enough for a nice extra flavor.
"What are you doing" - The theme song lyric is perfect for Lennon McCartney. I think this is avery underrated song. And 'this catchy as hell with a sound very cool.
